So, we started this blog last August, and where did the year go? To be quite honest, we have had a very tough year as a family. Last fall we lost my cousin Ethan, at age 15, in a very tragic car accident. See this link: http://www.herald-mail.com/?module=displaystory&story_id=177341&format=html. He and a few friends were in a car, crashed and he and his best friend, Timothy Madieros, died. They were best friends, literally, until the end. We all are still struggling to get through this. Some days I still wake up and cannot believe he is gone.
And then...come January, Mom's beloved Dave (my step-dad) had a weird cold and was fighting going to get checked, and ended up have quadruple bypass surgery. And he is such a tough guy, retired Marine, former politician, it was a difficult recovery - and a real wake up call.
I feel like - in fact, I know, God and the Universe is trying to tell us that life is short, and stop worrying about stuff that will not matter in the long run! So, we are trying to embrace each day. Each and every day.
